The SLNA AGM 2021 will be held on Saturday May 1st at 3 pm in Wellington and on Zoom. All SLNA members are invited.

New Committee Members sought!
Calling all SLNA members – do you have a desire to see our network thrive? Have you got what it takes to be part of our national steering committee?
We’ve been together as a network for the last nine years, and in 2020 the current committee did some deep thinking about the vision and values of SLNA. You’ll find them on the home page of our website at Now we need a group of dedicated people who believe in the future of community singing in Aotearoa, to step forward and help make the vision a reality.
2020 was a hefty year for everyone – including the SLNA committee. We’ve kept the flame alive, but we need some fresh energy and more diverse representation. Several long-standing committee members are stepping down, and we thank them for all their generosity and hard work. These current committee members have signalled their intention to seek re-nomination this year: Andrea Robinson, Anna Pendred, Carol Shortis, Sally Randall and Tevivi Daniel
If you’re keen to lean into this work, here’s what you need to know:
We’re looking for competent, reliable members to represent their region, area of interest and community sector. You’ll need sufficient time and energy to apply your broad life-skills to the job of maintaining our network. You don’t have to be the best song leader in the world – we’re life-long learners, and this is a network of peer sharing and support. Our committee members work as volunteers without pay, though their annual membership subscription is waived and their costs for attending in-person meetings or gatherings are covered.
We meet online (using Zoom) about once a month. We use an online workspace called Slack to work together outside of our meetings. You’ll need to have a reliable internet connection, and basic computer skills.
Our main project for the coming year is the organisation of a national gathering for our membership, which will take place in September 2021. We have ongoing administrational, marketing and communications work, and take on special tasks as they present themselves (like the risk mitigation for Covid-19 project we completed last year).
Every year at our AGM we need to elect:
+ 3 committee members

If you or someone you know would like to take on any of these roles, you’ll need to be “proposed and seconded” in writing. Send this to our Secretary or Helen Diaz Secretary SLNA, 971 Kaipara Flats Road, RD 4 Warkworth Auckland 0984
Nominations close at 5pm on 26th April 2021
